“Peatland Connections” is a Crichton Carbon Centre project using arts and science to reconnect rural communities, scientists, land managers and policymakers with land use decisions. A decision-making tool will be developed to realise a more sustainable and climate-resilient future based on Natural Capital.
Peatland Connections will use micro-commissions and artist residencies to look at peatland landscapes through the lens of the creative expert. The body of work created will be shared to start conversations around peatlands across the region and beyond.
This website is continually updated with new information and developments as the project progresses.
Visit our Artists page to view the first works commissioned by the project. Every creative can bring different understandings around peat into general conversation, and we will be adding more to the page soon.
