Land management

Informing

Working with land users to gather information in the workshops and the citizen science project, we will collate and distil the conversation into a practical decision making tool. This tool will allow the opinion of local communities and a wider range of stakeholders to be better reflected in the future management of the project area. The tool will demonstrate to a national audience and policy makers the wider facets of Natural Capital that must be considered alongside more tangible provisions such as timber production.

An important element of this project theme is to identify how this tool would work in a real life setting. Applying the tool in a theoretical manner across the wider catchment area, considering aspects such as the practicality/cost effectiveness of restoration, policy/regulation, and potential for ecological success, will support in navigating conflicting land uses.
